Visual Facilitation Templates
Our practitioners often rely on the use of visual templates while facilitating strategic discussions.
These simple graphic frameworks provide a container for real–time capture of participant input during meetings — we simply fill them in as participants talk and the categories, or "buckets of information", become a guide for discussions.
WHY USE VISUAL FACILITATION TEMPLATES?
They keep the conversation on track.
They make it easier to facilitate a meeting. As one part of the chart becomes full participants naturally gravitate towards other "buckets of information" to fill in.
They are a critical component in our ability to gather stakeholder input even within groups of one hundred or more participants.
It's a great way of checking for alignment which isn't always obvious when we're just talking at each other (particularly when working visually).
They scale really well. You can use one for a whole group or give copies of the same template to breakout groups then compare and contrast (or do what we call a "gallery walk").
